Speaking of which, Season 6 has begun post-production and the team is back to work!
My new recording studio in the heart of the city, injected a renewed energy to my work and the completion of several wonderful projects including the score composition for Just A Breath Away (winner of best film at Fantasia festival) and a second album, Omnitudes, with the precious help of my valuable co-producer Jérémie Corriveau. I also completed the new tv seasons of Boomerang, True North and the movie soundtrack of Radio Silence a movie produced by Incendo Productions, as well as the Air Canada Foundation ad directed by Olivier Staub. The year was capped off by a film nomination for True North at the Gémeaux Awards !

Almost exactly four years after his highly personal debut album, OMNI, Michel Corriveau is back with nine new instrumental tracks on OMNITUDES.
OMNITUDES is Michel Corriveau’s second album, as deeply personal as his debut. The master of electro-acoustic ambient soundscapes combines a wide variety of sounds and instruments into atmospheric music at the intersection of emotion and high technology. As he puts it, “Omnitudes is an innocent look at our connected solitudes.”

Michel Corriveau, one of SOCAN’s #ComposersWhoScore, was the inaugural winner of the Screen Composer of the Year award during SOCAN’s 28th annual Montréal Gala, held Oct. 16, 2017, at La TOHU.
The 28th Montréal SOCAN Awards Gala was held at La TOHU on Oct. 16, 2017. Michel Corriveau received the inaugural Screen Composer of the Year Award. Indeed, 2016 was a jam-packed year for the composer. His music was used in the Québec productions Les pays d’en haut (SRC) and Prémonitions (AddikTV), as well as that of the French production Versailles (Canal+). He also composed music for the feature film Anna, which was saluted at the Gala of Québec Cinéma, and the Prix Écrans canadiens, and rewarded at the Los Angeles Independent Film Festival Awards. Those awards were well-deserved by this music creator, who possesses a keen artistic sensibility.

During this interview, Michel Corriveau expresses his pride about being the first winner of the new prize, talks about his work over the past year, and his musical signature, as well as sharing memories about Robert Charlebois, and the impact of SOCAN on his career as a screen composer.
